Breathing Air and Gas Testing Solutions That Go Beyond Compliance

RPC’s ISO 17025-accredited Compressed Air and Gases Laboratory provides comprehensive analysis of compressed breathing air, diving air, mixed diving gases, and medical gases. Using advanced instrumentation and highly qualified scientists, we deliver rapid, accurate results aligned with CSA standards:

  • CAN/CSA Z180.1:19 – Compressed Breathing Air

  • CSA Z275.2-20 – Occupational Safety Code for Diving Operations

  • CAN/CSA Z7396.1:22 – Medical Gas Pipeline Systems

We also offer custom solutions to meet the requirements to protect you and your equipment. Contact us for more information.

Compressed Breathing Air

Accredited by the Standards Council of Canada, RPC analyzes compressed breathing air to meet CAN/CSA Z180.1:19 requirements. This standard mandates testing during commissioning and at least every six months.

After prompt analysis, you’ll receive a certificate of analysis confirming compliance. Our team also tracks certificate expiry and arranges retesting—so you never have to worry about lapses.

Compress Diving Air

RPC provides accredited testing for diving air and mixed gases under CAN/CSA Z275.2-20. These gases must be tested for safety and purity at least every six months.

As with breathing air, we issue a certificate of analysis and manage reminders for retesting, ensuring ongoing compliance.

Medical Gases

Our laboratory analyzes medical gases—including nitrous oxide, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and medical air—using cutting-edge technology. Accredited to CAN/CSA Z7396.1:22, we ensure safety and purity through regular testing.

Clients receive a certificate of analysis and proactive retest scheduling. RPC also provides accredited medical gas pipeline inspections and sample collection for hospitals across Atlantic Canada.

We’re here to help!

RPC personnel are also members of various technical committees for breathing air and medical gases and as a result are able to assist with understanding the standard requirements. If you would like to speak with an air quality scientist regarding your testing requirements contact the laboratory and a staff member will be available to assist you.
