COMPRESSED BREATHING AIR, DIVING & MEDICAL GASES

RPC is ISO 17025 accredited for the comprehensive analysis of compressed breathing air, diving air, mixed diving gases and medical gases. Utilizing cutting edge technology and highly qualified scientists, RPC’s air quality laboratories are able to provide rapid results according to CSA Z180, Z275 and Z396 standards for firefighters, divers and medical professionals respectively.

Compressed Breathing Air

Compressed breathing air analysis is carried out for many clients across Canada including fire departments, diving shops, and many industries involved with painting and sandblasting.

The air quality laboratory at RPC is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada for the analysis of compressed breathing air to the requirements of the CAN/CSA Z180.1-13 standard. This standard requires that a breathing air source be tested for safety and purity at least every six months.

Following a prompt analysis of your sample, RPC’s air quality laboratory will provide a certificate of analysis which indicates the sample’s conformance or non-conformance to the requirements of the standard. Furthermore, the laboratory analysts will provide a friendly reminder of when your certificate expires and will arrange a retest. This ensures that you, as our valued client, do not have to be concerned about your certificate expiring before resampling.

Compressed Diving Air

RPC is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada for the analysis of diving air and mixed gases to the requirements of the CAN/CSA Z275.2-15 standard. This standard requires that diving air and mixed gases be tested for safety and purity at least every six months.

This ensures that you, as our valued client, do not have to be concerned about your certificate expiring before a sample is retested.

Medical Gases

RPC utilizes cutting edge technology for the analysis of various medical gases. These gases include nitrous oxide, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and medical air. The air quality laboratory at RPC is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada for the analysis of medical gases to the requirements of the CAN/CSA Z7396.1 standards. These standards require that a medical gas be tested for safety and purity at least every six months.

This ensures that you, as our valued client, do not have to be concerned about your certificate expiring before a sample is retested. An example of RPC’s certificate of analysis can be seen below.

RPC also provides accredited medical gas pipeline inspections and sample collection at hospitals throughout Atlantic Canada.

We’re here to help!

RPC personnel are also members of various technical committees for breathing air and medical gases and as a result are able to assist with understanding the standard requirements. If you would like to speak with an air quality scientist regarding your testing requirements contact the laboratory and a staff member will be available to assist you.
