NEXT GENERATION SEQUENCING (NGS)
Unlock the power of DNA with RPC’s next-generation sequencing services for microbiome and environmental research. We deliver fast, accurate sequencing and customized analysis to help you understand microbial communities and monitor ecosystems.
RPC’s next-generation sequencing services provide analyses for both microbiome studies and environmental DNA (eDNA) research. We employ the Illumina MiSeq sequencing platform for high-throughput sequencing delivery.
MICROBIOME ANALYSIS
Microbiome research explores how microorganisms and their genes relate to human or animal health. Through targeted 16S and ITS metabarcoding we gain insights into bacterial and fungal communities, respectively. We provide sequence data for our collaborating partners on human gut microbiome profiles, as well as participate in research on salmon gut and skin microbiomes.
ENVIRONMENTAL BIODIVERSITY OR MONITORING
We work with researchers and conservation organizations in their environmental DNA (eDNA) studies on ecosystem biodiversity. In addition to bacterial and fungal targets, we have the capacity for 12S, 18S, or COI (cytochrome c oxidase subunit I) metabarcoding for assessing fish, eukaryotic, and metazoan (animal) communities. We process a variety of environmental samples from aquatic, marine and terrestrial habitats. In environmental monitoring, bacterial community surveys can benefit the health monitoring of agriculture and aquaculture rearing sites. In addition, we can examine a variety of samples including biofilms and runoff from remedial and industrial environments.
Our collaborative team provides bioinformatics analysis tailored to your project’s needs.
