INDOOR AIR QUALITY CONCERNS

Poor indoor air quality has become a matter for increasing concern due to increased building tightness, the growing use of synthetic materials, and the implementation of energy conservation measures that reduce the amount of outside air available. Indoor air quality is a critical component of providing a healthy living environment.

With decades of experience in air quality testing, RPC offers an extensive array of air testing services with highly qualified scientists. RPC is ISO 17025 accredited and offers routine testing services such as radon and mould testing as well as custom analytical services that covers a wide range of compounds.

MOULD AND FUNGI TESTING

RPC is experienced in the identification of mould in buildings. We are accredited by the Standards Council of Canada for identification of fungal spores by the Spore Trap method. We also participate in Proficiency Testing through the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

Types of analysis include bulk, tape lift, swab and air samples.

Spores are identified on bulk, tape lift and swab samples either by direct examination of the material or by incubation of the sample on an agar plate, followed by identification of any colonies present.

On-site air quality investigations for mould are available. Indoor air samples are collected and are compared with outside samples to determine if there is a fungal amplifier present.

RADON TESTING

Radon can be found in almost every building in Canada and the levels can vary greatly from home to home. Testing for radon is affordable and can give you peace of mind to know your family is safe from exposure, and since you can't see, smell or taste it, the only way to know if the air in your home has high radon concentrations is to test for it!
