Air Quality

RPC offers a wide range of air quality services tailored to suit individual client needs. The air quality analytical laboratory specializes in Indoor Air Quality analyses including molds/fungi, VOCs, formaldehyde, particle and dust analysis. Our team of air quality specialists delivers on-site air quality monitoring and occupational health and safety related services. Clients can also arrange to rent the required equipment at reasonable rates and our staff will follow up with competitively priced analysis. We understand the urgency associated with air quality problems so rapid turnaround (1-2 days) is available in most instances.

RPC is recognized as an Accredited Laboratory by the Standards Council of Canada for the analysis of Compressed Breathing Air to the requirements of the CSA Standard CAN3-Z180.1-00. We are also Atlantic Canada's only testing facility accredited by the Standards Council of Canada for inspection of non-flammable medical gas piping systems for compliance with the CAN/CSA-Z305-1.92 standard and have 20 years of experience in this specialized field.

Services

Breathing Air

RPC has over 10 years of experience in providing compressed breathing air analysis in the Atlantic provinces for fire departments, dive shops and industrial users of breathing air to ensure purity and safety.

Industrial

RPC's air quality specialists are proficient in conducting asbestos surveys, particle and dust collection and analysis, volatile organic compound (VOC) characterization, confined entry monitoring and noise measurement.

Asbestos survey services include bulk sample identification, air quality monitoring, and asbestos inspection during removal. Our personnel have been trained for bulk sample identification (NIOSH Method 9002) and asbestos fibre counting (NIOSH Method 7400).

Institutional

RPC provides general air quality surveys and medical gas testing for health, educational and other institutions.

General air quality surveys are designed to address "Sick Building Syndrome" in schools, hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions. Sick Building Syndrome is the condition which causes complaints of headaches, sore throats, fatigue and chronic health problems in the workplace environment.

Residential

Services geared specifically to the homeowner include urea formaldehyde foam insulation (UFFI) surveys and general air quality testing.

UFFI services include insulation identification, formaldehyde measurement and physical inspection after removal. General air quality testing addresses specific problems such as stale air, unusual odours and presence of mould and fungi.
