Molecular Biologist

A molecular biologist would join a diverse group of scientists and technicians in a state-of-the-art research and diagnostics laboratory. The work would consist of routine and non-routine molecular analysis (including nucleic acid extraction, PCR and gel electrophoresis) on a wide variety of sample types. Molecular biologists would work under the supervision of senior laboratory staff and be involved with sample receiving and preparation, occasional field work, sample analysis, method development and data reporting in a commercial laboratory setting. Experience in nucleotide sequencing, SDS PAGE, western blotting, enzymatic assays or basic microbiology would also be desirable.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. with a concentration in molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • An aptitude for customer service and for working effectively in a fast-paced, laboratory environment
